Im thinking of loading up at GCS. I was wondering if anyone has had any problems ever with them, or if they're good with they're business.

Long history of threads about them on this site...

While I used to be one of their hardest critics, they merged with the main guy from JAZZ...

I have a lot of respect for this guy and his sports books, so I will shock everyone now by saying that GCS is A OK these days, and I have no problem recommending them.

Your money is totally safe there..

Father T,

It is quite obvious who you are.

Hi LOU...

Is it still your life's ambition to attack this sports book?

The bottom line is while they may have been a place to avoid in the past, I'd have no problem at all betting with them these days...

The sports betting industy is an evolving one, with ratings and abilities to pay out changing all the time.

If you bet with GCS, you will get payed!

I would by NO means call this book "totally safe". Who really cares who merged with who, bottom line is the principle owners usually have the last say, they want to stiff they can usually stiff. Any book with pretty long history of unethical BS and slow pays is a pass for me. Far to many good outs to waste your time with this joint. JMO
Good luck

Buzzsaw,

It would be nice if you spoke with the main people from these books, rather than getting second hand information...

Jazz tells me the last time you two conversed was by an email in January!

Sheesh...

There is still a very close relationship between Jazz and Grand Central Sports.

A) Grand Central was a year ahead of the business plan set when they originally merged with Jazz...

B) Jazz was comfortable that Grand Central had not only payed off all of its customers, but they also had deposits on hand to cover all the post up money.

C) Jazz still "overviews" Grand Central's books, meaning Grand Centreal is still working with Jazz.

D) Jazz is still their landlord and acts a consultant to Grand Central, making sure that payments will always be made.

So despite the fact that Jazz no longer has day to day control, if something were going badly at GCS, JAZZ would let me know...

Also, Jacoby has been "out" for quite some time; another positive factor weighing heavily in my change of heart towards Grand Central Sports.

I have been playing at GCS for three years now. I have withdrawn 4 figure payouts several times. They offer plenty of bonuses. No complaints here.

Let me add one more thing about GCS. If I ever have a problem with them, the RX Forum would hear about it immediately.

As you know, They lied COUNTLESS times on these boards telling players money was sent to them knowing full well they didn't make the payouts. Jacoby/Hussman was only one of the Ganny Scammers. His boss, Mike G (the King of Granny Scamming), is still a main principle who AUTHORIZED those LIES.

How come you failed to mention this?

I'm not familair with either book, but if I understand this thread correctly Jaz has a history of being honest and paying thier players. GCS on the other hand has a history of of slow pay, no pay and just plain old dishonesty. If thats the case, why did Jazz merge with GCS. Why would a book with a solid reputation want to get involved with a book that has a terrible reputation. Why would an honest bookmaker want to have business dealings with dishonest bookmakers.

very valid questions, maybe someone has the answers. Personaly I could care less how profitable I could be, I would never have a bunch of crooks for business partners

Shrink:

That article you wrote about "GREED", does it apply here? Is GCS your new NAB? Situations seem to be similar, with the only difference NAB wasn't "monitored" by Jazz.

quote:
D) Jazz is still their landlord and acts a consultant to Grand Central, making sure that payments will always be made

Buckeye being landlord of Wagers Paradise didn't mean shit when the ship sank.

Please don't get me wrong Ken, but everybody knows a "consultant" will have 0 power of decision when it comes to run business ethically. After all, a consultant can only advice, if the advice is taken or not, is only a personal choice of the OWNER of a book.

As the NAB situation showed, once a scammer, always a scammer. I understand this site works based on ROI. As it should be, but for you to say a shop run by known scammers is OK, is not OK. Thanks for allowing people who difer with you, to post their opinions.

Lastly, JAZZ is a solid operation. Their reputation is not in question here. Had they TAKEN OVER GCS, the story would be different. But that's not the case here.

What Chuck fails to mention is that when GCS was lying up a storm stroking poeple on their money, he was right there defending them.

Marc,
Maybe Jazz was interested in learning how to scam senior citizens?

Grand Central has gotten their act together and just goes about their business now, more of a quiet type book now but effective.
